MA Trainee

Department: Sales
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Report To: District Sales Manager

General Summary

Sysco Central California, a division of Sysco Corporation, is currently seeking qualified outside sales associates, also known as a Marketing Associate - Trainee to grow our business in the Central Valley. Sysco is the global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food products to restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments and other customers who prepare meals away from home. Its family of products also includes equipment and supplies for the foodservice and hospitality industries. Responsibilities

Outside sales position with defined territory responsibility. Marketing Associates are expected to perform as a relationship manager and take a consultative approach to selling by proposing new ideas and exceeding customer expectations. Marketing Associates develop and penetrate each of their accounts by selling the full mix of Sysco product categories through presentation of new products, ideas, sales tools, and services. The position requires varied work hours such as some evening and weekend work for customer calls

Qualifications

  • Self-Motivator with excellent Time Management skills
  • Previous sales experience in food service preferred
  • PC proficiency
  • Valid California Driver’s License and reliable transportation; Clean DMV
  • Minimum H.S diploma or equivalent

Delivery Associate

Department: Transportation
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Report To: Director Transportation

General Summary

Responsible for the safe, efficient and timely delivery of company products and equipment on a designated route and schedule to designated company depots.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Experience in driving doubles; hook-up; experience in high volume, multiple stop deliveries, minimum one-year preferred.
  • Valid Class A California driver’s license with doubles endorsement required. Proof of current D.O.T physical required. Basic math skills, ability to use hand truck and laptop computer. Experience operating tractor/semi combination with tire chains preferred.
  • HS diploma or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements
This work requires the following activities:

  • Climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking and lifting up to 75 lbs.
  • Finger dexterity for activities such as data entry and calculator use; grasping, repetitive motions, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and mobility between departments.
  • Job functions are performed on the truck as well as in the office.
